The Don’ts of Manifesting with the Law of Attraction

These habits block our desires from coming to us.

  1. Attachment to the outcome

When we are attached to the outcome, it creates a feeling of neediness that ends up repelling our desires. The actions we take when we feel this way never seem to make things go much better either. We might even end up making things worse. Trying to micro manage or control every little detail about how to manifest our desires is what trips us up.

Whenever you feel attached to a certain desire, focus on the why instead. Why do you want this? How would it make you feel if you had it already? Focus on your what and why. Let the powers of the divine handle the how, where and when.

2. Waiting for it to manifest before you can feel happy

Once we’ve set our intentions to manifest a certain desire into our physical reality, we have two choices. We can go back to focusing on what is — the current reality where our desire has not yet materialized physically — or we can give ourselves permission to feel as if we already have our desire even though we may not be able to see it, hear it, smell it, taste it, or touch it.

If you believe that you will feel a certain way once you’ve successfully created what you desire, focus on maintaining the feeling of already having it regardless of the physical evidence. Feel happy, excited, relieved, grateful and all the other emotions you would feel if you already had everything you wished for. Because you already do. It was created as soon as you desired it. Now feel as if you have it, and it will have no choice but to come to you.

3. A lack of gratitude for what you already have

Gratitude really is the magic ‘feeling’, if you will, that attracts to us everything we desire. The universe responds to the energy we put out. When we show gratitude for the things we already have, we invite more blessings to enter our lives.

However, if we spend too much time focusing on all the things we haven’t yet received, we only amplify the feeling of it’s absence. We end up living in a state of lack.

As Abraham Hicks would say, “You can’t get there from there.” You can’t allow the abundance of blessings that are in store for you to stream into your life. Not if you’ve been focusing on why it hasn’t come yet, or how long you’ve been waiting for it, or all the times you didn’t get it, or how easily it seems to go for others, or or or………..

Let go. Give thanks for the little things in your day-to-day life. Appreciate things not because you hope it will bring you more, but simply because it feels good to appreciate things.

4. Holding on the negative experiences from the past

We create our reality with our dominant thoughts and the emotional state these thoughts put us in. When we focus on the experiences from our past that made us feel blessed or grateful, we are tuning ourselves to the vibrational frequency of those experiences. More events like them are allowed to flow into our present.

However, when we constantly think about something negative that we have lived through, we keep it active in our vibration. Some negative experiences may be harder to let go of than others. We may have allowed those experiences to define who we are.

But our definition of ourselves is never fixed. We can choose to redefine ourselves as we grow with life experience. In order to reach for better, we may have to let go of pain and hurt from the past, which is quite a scary prospect. We sometimes hold on to negative experiences because we seek justification.

“I am the way I am today because of this thing that happened, and that traumatic experience, and this thing that I lost, and….”

Trying to justify where we are today because of where we have come from only keeps us in that same place. We hold ourselves back from living a truly fulfilling life because we are afraid to move on. Someone else may have caused us pain, but we choose to keep that pain alive within ourselves long after. Nobody else chooses that for us.

It is time to make the choice for yourself. Do you want to prolong your own suffering, or do you want to allow love and light in?

Your best life awaits you. Everything you desire, desires you too. Are you willing to be happy, right now, for no reason at all? Well, the only reason you ever really need is that it feels good to be happy.
